Have I selected the best mutual funds for my SIP investments

The mutual fund schemes you have selected are good considering your investment horizon which is 10 - 15 years.

However for investing Rs 12,000 through monthly SIPs selection of 7 schemes is too much.

We think, you should go with maximum 3 schemes. For example – one each from the large cap, midcap and Index category. Kotak Select Focus fund from the large cap, L&T Value Fund from the midcap and ICICI Prudential nifty next 50 index fund from the Index fund category could be good choices.

Investing through regular plan or direct plan depends upon your understanding of investments into mutual funds. If you can self-service your investments and also understand mutual funds well then you can go with direct plans. However, if you do not understand mutual funds much and need some advice and help in investments, you should always go with a mutual fund advisor. If you go through a mutual fund advisor, he will suggest you to invest through regular plans.
